4.1 Within 1000m of a marine/harsh/heavy industrial environment or within 30m of a pool ensure units are treated with protective coatings to prevent rust and corrosion. DO NOT INSTALL STANDARD UNPROTECTED UNITS.
Above - Upgrading of these units’ protective coatings would have created additional longevity and reduced lifecycle costs
4.2 There are a number of products available, and the manufacturers may only allow/approve the use of specific treatments. Check with the design consultant and mechanical services subcontractor. References section provides contacts as well.
4.3 Include clear instructions for washing equipment in harsh/marine environments on a specified regular basis in the maintenance and operation manuals.
