Article summary

As noted in the manufacturer’s literature, compressive grout strength is affected by the amount of water added.

To ensure the require strength is achieved, the grout requires testing.

Grout testing is completed as below - the Australian Standard is on the Hutchies Toolbox.

The standard requires the use of a cube mould available as below (can be completed by the site team and picked up by the lab or have the concrete tester do the sample and take it to the lab) and grout testing shall be completed as below.

Frequency is to take samples on the first few floors until 7 day tests are back and grout depth checked with engineer to confirm the grout is being completed correctly. During this time the person doing the work is monitored until we are sure they are doing the grout correctly.

After this the testing can be dropped back to random and for min 10% of the remaining works. If at any time another person takes over the work from the trained person testing is to be undertaken in the same manner - until there is certainty of the works being completed correctly
